Hi! Molly Sellers here. I started Molly Makes Home as a way to share my experience and knowledge working in the interior design industry. My favorite part about what I do is finding creative solutions to challenges and setbacks, whether that be a tight budget, an immovable load bearing wall or a quick turnaround. In my own home, I am working within the constraints of a budget and enjoy using sentimental pieces, DIY projects, and a lot of color and pattern to make our house feel like home.
My passion for interior design started at a young age. Maybe it was constantly rearranging furniture, gluing design magazines together, or sketching 3d room drawings, but it was an easy decision to go to school for interior design. Out of school, my first experience in the design industry was working for a high end residential general contractor teaching me so much about construction and managing projects. I then worked in the commercial realm designing multi family leasing and amenity spaces and apartment units. In addition to that, I staged and decorated model homes. Deciding to start a family, I started my own design firm helping others create accessible, functional and beautiful spaces. Two kids later, I have scaled back my business but still desire to help create beautiful homes and spaces that are unique and fit the families that fill them.
